Problematic Pornography Use and Social Media Content Exposure

Problematic Pornography Use  and Social Media Use

We are currently investigating how exposure to sexualized social media content affects the urge to watch pornography among young people aged 16 to 25. This pre-registered experimental study uses a pre-test/post-test design and examines whether individuals with higher levels of problematic pornography use (PPU) show stronger effects. We are also exploring potential moderating factors, such as emotional problems and impulsivity. The study has received full ethical approval from the Ethics Review Board of the University of Amsterdam.
